15th Stafford Brownies decided not to let let the Coronavirus beat them.
The closure of all Guiding units happened just after the Brownies had planted sunflower seas ready for a Mother’s Day craft they had planned. So before we went into lockdown the leaders quickly thought to distribute the kits. They have been thrilled to receive regular postings from parents of what the Brownies have been doing and how well the seeds have grown.
Following a suggestion from one of the parents they decided to follow the lead of tutors and businesses and hold a virtual meeting.
Brownie leader, Jane Brookes, told us: “We gave it a go and I am still overwhelmed by how well it went and the thanks we received from parents. However, the real icing on the cake was the reactions of the girls when they could interact with each other and do the same things together.”
Have you held a virtual meeting or have you been able to stay in contact with your unit whilst we can’t meet? If so we’d love to hear from you. Send your comments, stories and pictures to county.projects@girlguidingstaffordshire.org.uk.
