Burton Trefoil Guild celebrated Thinking Day 2023 by learning about The Netherlands. They made windmills to go in the garden, sampled some Dutch cheese and saw a traditional Dutch clog dance performed by two of their members.
They then learnt about the first letter that Lady Baden-Powell wrote to girl guides and girl scouts when she became World Chief Guide. She instituted the Thinking Day shiny penny tradition. They also celebrated by hosting their annual Thinking Day Breakfast at their division headquarters, Brook House. This was supported by many division members and County Trefoil Guilds. They had a short ceremony and sang ‘This Little Guiding Light of Mine’ with tea lights and shared some memories of Thinking Day and about Brook House.
It sounds as though they all had a lovely time celebrating Thinking Day 2023.
