Girlguiding Staffordshire’s headquarters in Hixon celebrated its 25th anniversary on 22nd February.
It was officially opened on 22nd February 2000 by the then Chief Guide Bridget Towle and has seen thousands of girls and leaders pass through its doors in the past 25 years.
Those originally involved in the the purchase and construction of the building were invited to join in the celebrations along with local dignitaries, commissioners, county advisers and past and present members of staff.
The theme of the celebration was the Caribbean and those who attended were treated to delicious Caribbean food and a chance to try their hand at steel drums. The choice of date for the official opening was chosen to coincide with World Thinking Day and at the start of the event all members were invited to renew their promise together. Lots of fun was had by all who attended.
