Six Rainbows and 5 Brownies from 1st Fazeley Rainbows & Brownies have shown fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination while working towards their eco award. They have taken real action to care for the environment and have learned how their everyday choices can make a positive difference.

As part of their journey, the girls have been litter picking in their local area, helping to keep their community clean and safe for both people and wildlife. They learned why litter is harmful to animals and the environment, and they proudly took responsibility for making a difference. The Brownies also learned about eco-bricks and proudly made their own, discovering how plastic waste can be reused in a practical and environmentally friendly way.

The girls also explored the idea of a carbon footprint, learning what it means and how their actions can impact the planet. They discussed simple but powerful ways to reduce their own carbon footprints, such as saving energy, reducing waste, and making thoughtful choices about what they use and throw away.

Exploring eco-friendly alternatives was another exciting part of their journey. Instead of using plastic confetti, they created natural leaf confetti, learning how small swaps can make a big difference. They also took part in a book swap, promoting the importance of reusing, sharing, and reducing waste.

Creativity played a big part in their Eco Award work. The Rainbows made beautiful bottle cap jewellery, reusing materials that might otherwise have been discarded. Through their designs, they promoted awareness of wildlife and the importance of protecting animals and their habitats. The Brownies even turned recycling into something fun and imaginative by creating recycling creatures and designing their own recycling game using plastic bottles.

Throughout all these activities, the girls demonstrated responsibility, creativity, and a genuine passion for protecting the planet. They should be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. Their hard work shows that even small hands can make a big difference in building a greener future.
