County Commissioner Cat has accept the challenge to walk the length of Staffordshire as part of a sponsored walk to help units raise funds! We would like units to join Cat on various sections of the route as she walks through (or close to) your division.
The walk will take in a lot of the “Staffordshire Way” with some diversions to incorporate as many divisions as possible.
At the moment we would like units to sign up to say whether or not they’re interested and roughly how many girls and leaders they think would like to take part. At the moment we’re finalising and test-walking the routes to make sure they’re suitable for little Rainbow legs as well as older leader legs! As soon as we have the routes finalised they will be emailed out to interested units with start and finish points within each division. We will be allocating different lengths of walk to the different sections – we don’t expect a 4 year old to be able to walk as far as a 14 year old.
There will be a cost of £2 per person to take part in the walk and for this they will get a badge. We then ask that girls (and adults) get sponsored for their walk and then the unit can then keep any of the funds raised. We will ask that you keep us updated with how much you’ve raised so that we can add it to our totaliser!
We have the following schedule showing when the walk will be going through (or near) your division:

Day 1 – Saturday 16th September – Stafford, Lapley, Stone & Eccleshall and Stone Outward divisions
Day 2 – Sunday 17th September – Longton, Newcastle, Stoke South & Stoke North divisions
Day 3 – Saturday 23rd September – Adults & Rangers only
Day 4 – Sunday 24th September – Leek division
Day 5 – Saturday 30th September – Threapwood & Uttoxeter divisions
Day 6 – Sunday 1st October -Adults & Rangers only
Day 7 – Saturday 7th October – Burton, Needwood, Tamworth & Lichfield divisions
Day 8 – Sunday 8th October – Cannock & Rugeley divisions
Day 9 – Sunday 22nd October – Rugeley division
