Anna West and Hannah Barton of Stone and Eccleshall Division were at St James’s Palace in March to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award . Both girls had progressed through the sections with Guiding and both had completed their Gold Service with local Brownie packs in Stone.
Hannah is now training to be a midwife in Coventry and Anna is training to be a Primary School Teacher in Cheltenham. Anna also helps lead a Brownie pack near the university with two other students. Anna said ”the whole day was magical from being able to talk to the Duke of Edinburgh and the highlight for me was having my award presented by Benedict Cumberbatch (of Sherlock fame!)”
