3rd Stone Guides recently held a very successful coffee morning tying in with the opening of their new facilities at Westbridge Park.

The focus of the event was to fund raise for guiding projects and to raise monies for the Guide Dog Association. The girls had been inspired to raise money for the association after a visit to their unit by the local branch of the Guide Dogs Association. The coffee morning was well attended and was made more special with guide dogs and their owners in attendance. The magnificent total of £537 was made on the day.

Yvonne Cowie, speaker and fundraiser for the Guide Dogs Association and Jean (a puppy-raiser and fundraiser for guide dogs) plus Trooper, a guide dog in training, were presented with a cheque for £250. The Guides were told how the money would be spent: £6 would support a dog for the day, £15 would buy a leather lead, £26 would buy a white harness, £16 would buy a puppy in training harness. The list is endless. Yvonne, congratulated the guides on their fund raising efforts and said, “you all did so well to raise such an incredible amount of money and it is hugely appreciated by the association.”
