Did you know that our volunteers regularly receive long service awards? Girlguiding’s national awards start from 5 years of service right the way through to 60 years of service. Last year we awarded a total of 1,590 years worth of national long service awards.
More recently, Girlguiding Midlands introduced their own 3 year service award so that our volunteers are recognised sooner.
One of our most recent recipients of the new 3 year award is Stephanie Hemsted-Williams who was presented with her badge and certificate by Staffordshire’s county commissioner, Tracey Chamberlain.
On receiving her award Stephanie said: “I was thrilled to receive my 3 year award. I only qualified as a leader in September and so to receive the 3 year service award was the perfect end to my guiding year. It’s lovely to be recognised for the volunteering we do”.
Congratulations to all of our 2025 long service award recipients!
