32nd Stafford Brownies spent their October half term fundraising by cleaning cards, tidying rooms, cooking, feeding pets, washing up and lots more.
Between them, the Brownies raised over £60 which they used to buy food at the supermarket for the Signpost Centre, a local community support service. The Brownies went around the supermarket in small groups with a list of the food that the centre needed. The Brownies had to look for the food, find the best value and work out how much they could spend on each item and keep within their budget.
Charlie from the Signpost Centre took a boot full of food back to the centre ready to stock up the food bank for those in need in the local community.
The Brownies will be using the activity as a start towards their Charities badge and have certainly been upholding their Brownie Promise – doing their best, serving the community and helping other people.
