Girlguiding Staffordshire is partnering with BBC Radio Stoke to create ‘twiddle muffs’ for Dementia Action Week (21st-27th May). This is part of BBC Radio Stoke’s ‘make a difference’ campaign as part of their 50th birthday celebrations.
Twiddlemuffs are knitted muffs which help calm older people who suffer restless hands due to dementia. The muffs not only keep cold hands warm but have various things attached to them which the owner can ‘twiddle’, things like ribbon, zips and buttons.
Please send your twiddle muffs to county headquarters by 21st May and we will ensure that they are passed to BBC Radio Stoke for distribution. If you’re in the Stoke area then please email county.projects@girlguidingstaffordshire.org.uk and we can arrange for a more local drop off point for you.
