Aquabox, the charity that provides safe drinking water and humanitarian aid to people affected by natural disasters, extreme weather and conflicts, recently joined us at our Unity 2026 international camp. They came along to educate members about water filtration, the importance of clean water and the humanitarian work they do around the world.
Roger Spare, Aquabox Ambassador, who has never been to a camp was initially worried that the girls would not be interested. it couldn’t have been more wrong. Roger said: “I was overwhelmed with the interest shown by the girls and was particularly touched by their enthusiasm and questions. We had a wonderful time at Unity, made lots of new friends and were made to feel most welcome.
Through donations for badges a massive £410.68 was raised throughout the week. Millions of people around the world don’t have access to clean water for drinking, cooking or washing and the money raised could send an Humanitarian aid Aquabox and a Community filter to a family in a country in crisis somewhere in the world. The community filter would give water to 400 people every day and the Aquabox will help at least a family of 10 in need. It is expected that they might go to Venezuela, Ukraine of even Spain/France with the recent wildfires.
If you would like to get involved in helping to raise funds for Aquabox then they have a challenge badge on their website that you can complete as an individual or as a unit. You can find out more information here: https://aquabox.org/what-we-do/aquabox-challenge/
